Educational resources and materials including activity sheets specifically designed for your key stage group, ready for your arrival.

For Schools taking advantage of our specially designed science and history workshops (see below), we offer a discount on the individual entry price:
Entry: £7.00 per pupil (min 15, max 100) Complimentary tickets for staff
Workshops are priced per session at £100 - minimum of 15, and maximum of 35 pupils per session.
We are very happy to accommodate larger groups for our workshops (up to 100 pupils). Larger groups have their workshop sessions in rotation while other groups from their school are touring the house or garden.
We recommend the following ratios for adults to students:
1:5 for seven years and under
1:7 for eight years to 11 years
1:10 for age 11 to 18 years

Suggested Timetable
We recommend that School visits follow the following timetable:
11.00 - Arrive, welcome and settle into our Education Room in the Cyder House
11.15 - Start Tour of House (45 mins)
12.00 - Break for lunch (30 mins Lunch -15mins recreation & comfort break)
12.45 - Garden Tour (30 mins)
13.15 - Comfort break regroup for worksop
13.30 - Workshop begins (45 mins)
14.15 - Workshop ends - shop visit, (Goody bags available - £3 per bag)
14.30 - Departure, farewells

Questioning ideas through your exploration of Dr Jenner’s House, via our education activity trails
Group discussions focusing on big concepts with links to real events and people
Take away learning resources to continue reflecting on your visit
Your visit will be guided by our Learning Officer and team
Exclusive use of our Education Room all day - we only take one school booking per day. The Education Room and lavatories are positioned within the ground floor of the Cyder House building.
Hopefully your visit will fall on a day with fine weather, and give your pupils the opportunity to run around our beautiful garden, make noise and expend energy in the fresh air. Should the weather be inclement, we have a range of wet weather indoor activities.
You may wish to arrange a visit to the Church and / or Castle on the same day - please call us for advice on combined visits on 01453 810631
Terms and Conditions:
All bookings are supplied with a timetable, directions and local advice, teachers pack with trails / worksheets and copy of workshop with language bank, extended resources for after your visit and Jenner background file.
All bookings must be made at least 4 weeks in advance of your trip.
All bookings must be secured with a 50% deposit
All bookings must be paid for in advance of, or on arrival.
The total number of pupils booked will be invoiced, regardless of onsite attendance.
Extra students may be accommodated with prior agreement with Dr Jenner’s House.
The pupil: staff ratios must be maintained.
If coach parking is required, this must be booked ahead of your arrival.
Workshops available from Key stage 1 - 4
All workshops are linked to the National Curriculum, with hands on exploration and creative discovery.

KS1 - Create a Cure
Learn about 18th medicine and compare historical practices with modern day holistic therapies. The pupils will explore the Physic Garden and take part in a practical workshop to create their own ‘cures’ and marketing material for their newly created product.

KS2 - 4 Create a Vaccine
An interactive, safe and hands workshop which takes KS2-4 pupils through the journey of designing, creating, testing and administering a new vaccine of their choosing. This workshop has been carefully designed in partnership with The Jenner Institute, Pandemic Science Institute, Gilbert Group at University of Oxford to give a real world insight into the processes behind creating a new vaccine.

The Great Debate
Available from year 7 to year 13, this workshop offers the students the opportunity to experience a mini debate. Students are randomly grouped and sent on a fact finding tour of the museum. A mini debating society workshop follows for each side to argue the case for their designated argument.
