Museum Administrator (Part-time, 16 hours/week)
Location: Dr Jenner’s House Museum, Berkeley (flexible/hybrid working by agreement)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: £10,667 per annum pro rata (£25,000 FTE)
Contract: Fixed term to March 2028
Start date: As soon as possible
About Dr Jenner’s House
Dr Jenner’s House is an independent museum and charity in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. We are in a period of significant growth and development, supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund investment and an ambitious programme of work.
The role
We are looking for a capable, friendly and highly organised Museum Administrator to provide essential operational support. Working closely with the Museum Director and wider team, you will help ensure the museum runs smoothly and that our administrative systems keep pace with a growing organisation.
Key responsibilities (summary)
Manage and coordinate bookings and enquiries, supporting visitor and group visits.
Provide finance administration support (e.g., processing invoices/records and maintaining accurate admin systems).
Support fundraising administration, including maintaining records and Gift Aid processes.
Maintain compliance and operational records and support good information management.
Keep digital information updated (website and/or platforms as required).
Support ongoing improvements to administrative systems and processes.
Support the Museum Director and wider Management team as required.
Person specification (summary)
You will have:
Strong administrative experience and excellent organisation and attention to detail.
Confident IT skills (email, documents, spreadsheets; ability to learn systems quickly).
Good communication skills and a professional, helpful approach with colleagues and the public.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
Desirable: experience in museums/heritage/charity settings; familiarity with Gift Aid, fundraising admin or finance admin.
